Let the Fun Commence

After getting lost in downtown Seattle, we finally made it to the ship!!! Holland America's Amsterdam ... A large ship with loads of stuff to do. I am currently sitting on our balcony as I write this!!

For this trip, since my grandmother is graciously paying for the accommodations, we are staying in a Deluxe Verandah Suite. This is totally spoiling us - so much so that I told my mom that we may never want to stay in the "dungeon" ever again!!!



















We got on and got to our room around 12 PST and decided that we needed to get some food (the first of many). So - up to the Lido restaurant we go. I decided that I didn't want anything too overwhelming, so I got a Pannini Caprese - which was just perfect.








We walked a round a bit to check out the ship and got some pictures from the deck

We also decided to take our pictures from our balcony with Seattle in the background (dork, I know.. It just can't be helped)!!















We have to go to a "safety meeting" in about 30 minutes .. Where they will tell us what to do if we hit an iceberg and start sinking ... (they did have a string quartet playing music when we go on board this morning ... Mom said it reminded her of Titanic ...).

I will probably have spotty Internet service from here until we get to Alaska - and even then I don't really know what I'll be able to find - so no guarantees for a post every day (although I promise to write one and post it as I can!!)
