Pictures, Food and Wardrobe Malfunctions??!?!

So, for those anxiously awaiting the outcome of the BINGO game last night ... Unfortunately, I did not win. It was quite a comical game because 2 people had called 'Bingo' but did not win because they couldn't seem to understand that they had to make the big "x" across the board and not just one line across or down. (some guy won, btw)

After Bingo they put on a little show to display the dancers and various staff members. I find it kinda funny because it seems like the same dancers are on each ship .. I'm sure they're different people, but they really seem like the same exact people.

After the show, we decided to go back to to our room and sleep. The night went well - sleeping on a moving vessel was hard for me, but I did finally fall asleep. (for those curious, I haven't gotten motion sick yet - although yesterday was very tough until the patch kicked in).

This morning we grabbed a quick breakfast and then got ready to take pictures. We passed through a narrow passage (Inside Passage) while in Canada today - it was beautiful scenery on both sides of the ship. I had to explore some in order to find how to get to the front of the ship without having big huge sheets of glass towering above my head - making my pictures more blurry.

The scenery out here is absolutely breathtaking!

I spent a good 45 min outside taking pictures before having to go in to warm up. The temperature was in the upper 50's lower 60's but the wind just cut right through you!!

After picture taking and relaxing a while in our room, we headed a meet & greet with the ship captain & crew. This was interesting, but we were getting hungry and we ended up @ the grill by the pool and had some simple American food - cheeseburger! We were't looking for anything fancy since tonight was a formal night in the dining room.

After lunch, Mom and I headed up to the Crow's nest for team trivia. We formed a group with a married couple and 2 older ladies. Our team name was super original: 5 Girls and a Guy .. Oh yea! (and just for Lisa, one of the older ladies was from Bald Knob ... Yes, small world)
We got 9 of 17 points, not enough to even come close to winning ... But we had a great time!!

After trivia, Mom & I returned to the room were we all accidentally fell asleep! This was completely unintentional because we were supposed to go and play BINGO again(this time the prize money is $2500!!!) .. But, unfortunately, we missed it.

After the nap we went out on the balcony to continue watching the beautiful scenery pass by. We just happened to look overboard and saw a "Pilot" boat that was super close to the ship on our side. The boat kept coming closer and closer
- got so close in fact that they were able to hand something to one of the crewmen down below and 2 people got off and went on the boat back to Canada. The best we can guess is that there were some extra pilots on board since we were going through the narrow passage in Canada and since we made it out of the passage they were returning home. It was all very interesting to watch!!

While we were watching the 2 guys leave our ship and get on the small boat, we spotted 1 whale and a group on sealions. It was very hard to get decent pictures since we were so high up - but it was definitely a neat experience knowing that they were there!!

We then got ready for dinner and headed down. Getting ready, for us, is quite an interesting challenge - 3 girls, one bathroom. (also, for my OT friends out there, know of any places to buy arthritis friendly clothing & undergarments?? My grandmother would appreciate you forever!!)

Tonight we had made reservations at 5:30 with a request to sit near a window in the dining room. We sat with a couple from Virginia Beach who was telling us of all their travels! They have been almost everywhere, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, the Caribbean, Malaysia, Hawaii, now Alaska and in 3 months they're going on another cruise from Miami to France!!! He was from Boston and she had a very thick southern accent - they made a very interesting couple!

I had Rockfish for dinner and the chocolate soufflé - not too bad if I do say so!!

Starting around dinner, the ship started swaying much more - so much so that the captain came on the PA advising that you use the handrails on the hallways, elevators and stairs to avoid falling and the staff placed the "barf bags" near all the elevators. It is very bumpy and hard to keep your footing. So far, for me .. So good. I feel a little woozy, but bearable.

After dinner I went up to try to catch a game of trivia (but caught it on the very last question). We then went to the show in the theater. Tonight's show was various broadway songs/dance performed by the Amsterdam Dancers - it was pretty good, but I have to admit I was so tired that I started falling asleep.

I am now back in our room, headed to bed. My body is still stuck on Central Time and overnight tonight we will gain another hour (3 hours difference from Little Rock/Memphis).

We will dock in the morning in Ketchikan, AK - where I hope to find Internet to post all of this so everyone can be up to date!! I hope all is going well at home!
